Virginia's AUP policy has a great how to section... it says the AUP must address any technology-based device that may be brought into the school (cell phones, hand-held games, etc.).
This is a nice cut and dry template that we can modify as necessary:

This is from Australia but it has links and examples of a primary and secondary level... these AUP's are very understandable by students:
